If you are interested with bohemian clothing then you’ll probably love to dress up the boho style. Way back the 1970′s, this style has been a hip to the fashion industry and have been worn by many fashionable individuals during that time.

This type of clothing is more oft the gypsy type or style of clothing which is more often worn by South Asians. These style of clothing goes with several accessories together with various hairstyles. If you choose to wear bohemian clothes then these would be one of the most practical choice you have.

The boho style of clothing would allow you to have enough freedom to mix and match almost everything you have in your closet. You can add some jewelry to accentuate your hippie stylish look. Like for instance wearing hoop earrings and necklaces which are made up of shells or even wooden beads may be very attractive and cheap, which makes it an inexpensive way of dressing up with style.

Bohemian clothing is designed to make the person feel more comfortable and free from what she is wearing. It has a more feminine touch which makes it very popular for more women of today. The clothes are more loose to make the person wearing it have a lighter feeling and comfortable enough to do certain activities for the day without having to complain about tight pants or skirts.

You bohemian wardrobe would include free flowing skirts which can be pastel dyed and have those ethnic prints which ay be quite fascinating to wear. Then after, you can now decide what to match with your bohemian clothing when it comes to shoes, jewelry and accessories. If you want to achieve that bohemian look, you don’t have to be that much artistic, you’ll just have to values self-expression and allow yourself to bring out that personal style and that would be a good start.

The Guinness Storehouse

There is no doubt indeed that a trip to Dublin is, well, not a trip to Dublin unless accompanied by a pint (or three) of the Black Stuff. But as this has been the philosophy of many a tourist before you, how about making that pint a little more original – how about drinking that pint for free, in the highest bar in Dublin, with panoramic views of the city below? Get yourself down to The Guinness Storehouse, at the heart of St. James’s Gate Brewery, and this is exactly what you can do. A tour of the seven storey Guinness homage, built around a glass atrium in the shape of a pint glass, details the ins and outs of the production and history of one of the world’s most iconic drinks, and concludes with a complimentary tipple in Gravity Bar in the pint glass’s head. Expect stunning city views and increasing thirst levels, although bear in mind only the first pint is on the house.

The River Liffey Swim

If the Gravity Bar has left you with a hangover, then what better way to revitalise yourself than with a swim in the River Liffey, which cuts right through the centre of Dublin. This 80 year tradition takes place in August every year, and involves over 400 competitors swimming from Watling Street Bridge to the Custom House. However, turning up with your speedos and a pair of goggles does not necessary mean you’ll be taking the plunge – swimmers have to progress through a qualifying stage before they get to taste the river’s different kind of Black Stuff! But if you’re swimming experience doesn’t stretch further than your 50m badge, then don’t worry, as spectators use the day as an excuse to dress up in ridiculous fancy dress, so you won’t miss out on the fun!

Leopardstown Racecourse

Betting on horses doesn’t always have to mean Wednesday afternoons in the bookies wondering why you’re not in work. In Leapordstown Racecourse, you have a great day out for you and your friends only 15 minutes from Dublin’s city centre, and the summer races are often brilliant for a family evening’s entertainment. If you’re in town in September, then the Irish Champion Stakes is not to missed, as it’s the course’s most important race and attracts trainers from all over the world.

St Michan’s Church

For a more cultural afternoon or if you’re just looking for something to simply scare the children, try St. Michan’s Church. The church’s vault contains preserved bodies, including a 6 foot 6 crusader, a nun, and, oddly, a body with its arms and feet severed. The church itself was originally built 1095 but today mainly consists of a 1686 rebuild, so if mummified Irish people aren’t your thing, then the unusual carvings and magnificent organ will be more than enough to keep you entertained. A well worth visit for anybody looking for a little history without boring the rest of the family to tears, although the tour of the vaults can never be guaranteed to be tear free.

Temple Bar

The Temple Bar area of Dublin is the city’s cultural focus, and retains its medieval cobbled streets to make it a tourist hotspot. By the day, you may like to try one of the food, fashion or book markets which take place on most weekends, and it is also the location of a number of Irish cultural organisations, such as the Irish Photography Centre and the Irish Film Institute. By night, the area is transformed into a lively array of bars and clubs, amongst which is the imaginatively named Temple Bar, and is often considered the best place to go for an authentic Irish night out. A great place for a pint once you finally get the children in bed after a day at St. Michans.

Croke Park

Not only is Croke Park the sixth largest stadium in Europe, it is also the headquarters of the Gaelic Athletic Association, hence is a must see on your trip. Each year it plays host to the finals of the Gaelic Football and Hurling championships, and houses the GAA Museum, which details the history of the GAA movement and its effects as a nationalist symbol. Games of Rugby Union and Association Football were actually outlawed in fear of corrupting the dominance of the traditionally Irish sports, and only as recently as 2007 were the two sports welcomed into ‘Croker’ as it is informally known, such is the level of patriotism that comes with Croke Park and the GAA in general. Definitely worth a visit for anyone remotely interested in sport, or Ireland’s culture itself, and a great place to pick up your fridge-magnet-type souvenirs.

Trinity College

Situated in the heart of the city, Trinity college is Ireland’s most famous educational institute. It is also conveniently steeped in history, meaning you can go back to your third consecutive night on the Guinness satisfied that you have at least satisfied your cultural taste buds for the day. Tourists come from all over to see the picturesque cobbled quads and the Old Library, in which is housed the Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript containing the four gospels of the New Testament. In Latin. So there. And what’s more, previous students of the college include Samuel Beckett and Oscar Wilde, so you’re safe in the knowledge that wiser people than you have proceeded your footsteps.

George’s Street Arcade

If you’re looking for a side to Dublin not seen in the weekend break brochure, then after Temple Bar, try George’s Street Arcade. Housed in a compact Victorian building, the Arcade is a bazaar of stalls and shops to cater for the more bohemian side of your character. And if you don’t have a bohemian side, then visit George’s Street and you soon will. Fine wines, exotic jewellery and completely originally souvenirs all make for an intriguing day’s shopping, with a range of cafes allowing you to sit back and soak in the sights from the trendy to the outright unusual when your legs get tired.

Horseback riding

Despite its distinct metropolitan feel, Dublin does boast an impressive array of scenery, and there is no better way to experience it than on horseback. For the experienced rider, Calliaghstown Riding Centre in South Dublin provides heroic 5 day treks through the Wicklow mountains which will definitely test your fitness / patience / will to survive, and for the less experienced or even the first timer, places such as the highly recommended Paddocks Riding Centre will provide basic tuition and equipment, match you up with the right horse, and take you out through some of thee often breathtaking coastal and mountainous scenery.

St Patrick’s Day

This one probably needs no explanation, but should you find yourself in Dublin on March 17th, then be sure to have some form of green clothing in your suitcase and your ‘drinking head’ on, because the St Patrick’s day parade is something definitely worth being a part of. And although technically it is the one day and the one day only which is the public holiday, the five day carnival of street parades and fireworks tends not to acknowledge this minor issue, so if you’re in town for the week, prepare for a real party. In recent years as many as half a million people have witnessed the festival, so where St. George’s day may come and go with a whimper in the UK, the Irish certainly do not let their patriotism go unnoticed. And bring your wallet, because as another one of them will tell you as you pay for their Guinness, ‘everyone’s Irish on March 17th’.

Yesterday my bestie A and I were discussing one of our favourite early 90′s Vogue fashion spreads featuring one of our choice supermodels, Helena Christensen as a Spanish beauty with a travelling, gypsy caravan. The fashion was heavily influenced by Andalucia Spain with fiery red, tiered, flamenco dresses, intricately woven scarves, brocade fans and headpieces. Funny how we both remember it so vividly. I am obsessed with everything Spanish – I keep conversational cd’s in the car to practice, I coerce friends into Spanish vacations whenever possible, I am definitely taking flamenco lessons this Fall and I am investing in a black and red polka dot skirt so I can channel my inner Andalucian gypsy.

For travellers to Seville, no journey is complete without the viewing of a traditional flamenco show. Although I have been to Spain a few times, I have yet to enjoy the pleasure of participating in this long standing tradition. Teardrop. Fortunately, I have watched Vida (a Cuban flamenco troupe) and a shirtless, tight spandex-pant wearing Joaquin Cortes when they performed in the city. I could barely sit still. I wanted to hop on stage.

The origin of the Flamenco actually stems from the Indian Hindus who were brought over to entertain the royal courts with their beautiful ancient dances. Through the years, the dance form integrated influences of the Moorish and gypsies from Persia and Pakistan. Flamenco as it is known today is danced with passion, graceful precision, stacatto footwork and fluid hand movements. Live shows often include Spanish guitar accompaniment and the use of castanets (to accent the finger snapping).

From Andalucia.com, “There is widely held belief that you cannot learn the flamenco and that it is a secret held in the hearts of gypsies.” The most spontaneous and purest dance is the one that comes from your heart. So true.

Here are some Flamenco Links to keep your toes tapping and your dancing soul lit with passion! Ole!

Listen to your heartbeat – You’ve always had rhythm and felt bohemian. Take a dance class with Esmerelda Enrique who offers flamenco, technique and spanish guitar classes throughout the year in Toronto.

Better yet, go to where it all started – Immerse yourself in the culture and history of Seville. Bring me back a flamenco skirt will you? I am always supportive of travellers. Love Spain as much as I do!

There is one destination in the world that most people think of when they hear the word “romantic” and that’s Paris. People from all over the world visit Paris for many different reasons, one of the most popular being a romantic break with the other half. But with more than 14 million visitors annually and over 75,000 hotel rooms throughout the city to choose from, it can be a tough decision trying to find a great place to stay. Here are a few charming hotels that will make any romantic getaway that extra bit magical.

Located near the River Seine in the heart of the Ile Saint Louis region lies the luxury 4 star Hotel du Jeu de Paume. The central location is ideal for couples wishing to take a romantic stroll hand-in-hand along the river. Visitors can choose from 30 spacious rooms, each decorated with vintage pieces to give a very cosmopolitan feel. For those who plan to stay a minimum of 5 nights, there is the option of staying in one of the two apartments the hotel has to offer. With its warming atmosphere and peaceful private gardens, the Jeu De Paume is a great escape for couples of all ages. Pets are also welcome if you can’t bear to be apart from your furry friends for too long!

Sitting in the centre of Paris’s famous Left Bank, is the 4 star L’hotel. Artists, writers and philosophers alike gather here thanks to the areas reputation for bohemian soul and high fashion. The hotels “Grand” rooms have the biggest rooms and bathrooms but if you fancy a room with a view, the “Bijoux” and “Mignon” rooms overlook the cobbled street of Rue des Beaux-arts. A great choice for couples who love a lazy morning that consists of croissants, coffee and people watching.

A few streets west of L’hotel, is the relaxing Relais Christine. Hidden away at the end of a narrow street and surrounded by beautiful gardens, the 4 star Relais Christine is another romantic delight. There are 51 rooms and suits to choose from, ranging from a standard room to a luxury garden terraced suite. This small hotel has the intimacy and service that larger establishments can often lack. And being within walking distance from the Louvre and Notre-Dame, this charming hideaway is the perfect choice for a secluded break in the heart in the city.

The term bohemian also means hippy, or for some people – bringing the true individuality of the person. Though there is a place called Bohemia, bohemian clothing style is based on a movement led by artists, and writers who acts and lives free from the conventions and practices of the society. Now this term basically means being gypsy.

If you’re adventurous, and not afraid to look different, wearing something new like this line of clothing will be interesting for you.

This style usually deviates totally from the standards of fashion of the time, actually you can call this style as ‘anti-designer.’ This style originally started from New York, when artists and writers dress different and live like wanderers in the streets of New York. The basic philosophy of this style is going back to nature, that is why most shirts in this style has lots of flower, leaves, trees and other nature images. These images symbolize peace and harmony while practicing creativity and being humane by reflecting apart of your humanity at the same time. This is what Bohemian philosophy proclaims.

But a lot has changed now, people are more open minded and adventurous in trying styles that are against the traditional.

Women bohemian clothing is a more creative style than men’s. Women are more innovative, loves to accessorize and more creative when it comes to fashion sense. This makes women bohemian style a lot more different than men’s, as most women love to wear jewelries, patch works or mirror work than men. These accessories usually don’t go well with any type of men’s clothing.

For women, shirts of this style has no standards for length, shirts can either be lone (up to knee length) or short (waist length). If you want to purchase a shirt for this style, look for those shirts that are made up with very soft fabric, very soft mean it should be a free-flowing shirt that drops around the body. Loose shirts are good. The design can also have bold patterns like floral designs, designs that has ancient touch like images from Chinese history, etc.

Mother’s Day will never be complete without gift-giving. But from a wide selection of gift ideas, how do you find the perfect present? The important thing to remember when selecting unique Mothers Day gifts is to know the personality of your mom. Of course, your gift should be able to match her personality!

Here are a variety of gifts suggestions according to four different mother personalities:

The Super Mom
If your mom is one who juggles parenting duties with sports activities, dance lessons, and never-ending lists, you probably have a super mom. She is also one who sees to it that she’s on top of your homework and bedtime stories. “Because I said so,” is her mantra, so this leaves you little room for reasoning.

Personalized Mothers Day gifts for super moms are spa gift certificates, remote control key locators, fun fridge magnets, and timeless romantic DVD’s or books.

The Hipster
The cool mom, as she is also referred to. She is updated with the latest gadgets, and she probably has an iPhone or an iPod. Alternative or vintage, her fashion sense is clearly original! She’s one who likes fashion, music, and art.

Perfect ideas for unique Mothers Day gifts for these cool chicks are personalized portraits, stylish boots, stylish tops, and art-printed laptop skins.

The Domestic Diva
Call her old-fashioned, but this mother starts her day scouting for the freshest and cheapest vegetables and fruits from the nearby market. She dons an apron during the day, and later, during the night, transforms into an elegant hostess. Don’t you dare touch that remote control, especially when the television is set on the Food Network or Fine Living. Think of Bree Van de Camp of the Desperate Housewives as this personality’s model.

As such, it is but proper for you to give this personality kitchenware items, cocktail plates and glasses, inspirational books, cookbook stands, and frame sets as customized remembrances.

The Frugalista
She’s one who is always scanning her mailbox for sales events. She’s proud to say that she got the designer dress she’s been keeping in her closet for 75 per cent off! For her, one should “never pay the full price!” She’s constantly on the lookout for sale items.

If your mom is a frugalista, then you might want to give her designer items that you got on sale, of course. And you must be proud to tell her about it! Other perfect Mother’s Day gifts include exclusive invites to sale events, spa gift certificates, recycled record coasters, and re-usable shopping totes.

In your effort to find the perfect unique Mothers Day gifts, don’t forget to remember why you are giving such a present. After all, the best gift that you can give your mom during her special day is your unending gratitude of having her as your mother!

Why Choose Handmade Bridal Jewelry?
Are you looking for beautiful bridal jewelry that stands out from the crowd, but doesn’t burn your budget to a crisp? How do you choose wedding jewelry that will compliment your wedding dress and your personal style? Fear not dear reader, I can help answer these questions and more…

For over 10 years I have had the pleasure of working with many brides in creating adornments for their special day. Planning a wedding is complicated enough, so choosing wedding jewelry should be a real pleasure, and can be achieved without breaking the budget.

Trash or Treasure?
Admittedly, there is a ton of junky bridal jewelry out there made with Swarovski crystals and faux pearls and who-knows-what metal that gives you a rash. With all the generic stuff, it may seem challenging to find unique, handmade jewelry made from quality gemstones, pearls and genuine silver or gold that actually fits your budget. But it is possible, and worth the effort. Why? Factory, machine-made jewelry just doesn’t have the same warmth, elegance, and quality as jewelry made by hand, with love. This generic type of jewelry is mass-produced, can break easily, and usually screams “cheap costume bridal jewelry”- not something you will want to wear again very often.

You may be surprised to find that “real” jewelry can be just as affordable as “costume.” When you wear handmade jewelry, you are wearing a little piece of art…something as unique and special as you are. When you work with a reputable store or jewelry designer you will get personalized attention from someone who cares how you look and feel in your wedding jewelry. Also, there will be someone to help if your jewelry should need repair or alterations in the future.

Remember, of all the special details that go into your ideal wedding day, the jewelry you wear (besides the ring) is one of the few things you will be able to enjoy again and again. Long after the flowers have wilted, the photos are tucked in an album, and the wedding dress has been stored away, your wedding jewelry can be worn and treasured for years to come! So there is even more reason to find special jewelry that you really love, and that will provide sparkle, beauty, and fond memories in your future life.

First Comes the Dress…
Before anything else, it is most important to choose your dress. The wedding dress is a focal point for any bride, while the wedding jewelry and accessories provide the personalized finishing details to your overall look- the “icing on the cake” so to speak.

The neckline and overall shape of your dress will help determine the style and design of your jewelry. It is good idea to use the neckline of your dress as a guide. Pair a strapless or straight-across neckline with a choker or gently sweeping necklace, a deep-V front is the perfect “frame” for an elaborate or dramatically shaped necklace, while a halter-style dress will look great with chandelier earrings and a bracelet.

A long, bias-cut satin dress will look sexy and elegant with artistic jewelry that moves with the flowing fabric- like long dangly earrings, or a vintage-looking lariat necklace. A more structured, traditional dress with a bodice, elaborate skirt and train will call for larger, more formal jewelry that will compliment your dress and stand up to all that fabric and lace. It is best to keep jewelry consistent with the style of your dress for a polished look, but remember to have fun and express your sense of self through your adornments!

Keep it Simple, or at Least Tasteful!
You will also want to be careful of wearing elaborate jewelry with a deeply embellished dress and veil…to much lace, sequins and beading paired with lots of accessories will look busy and overdone. It is easy turn into a “cupcake” with too much icing and sprinkles- you don’t want to cringe when you look at the photos in 20 years! The focus should stay on you, the beautiful bride, and not get overwhelmed by your ensemble. Once the dress has been found, take a picture of yourself in it- this will make it much easier to shop for or design your jewelry with a clear image of the style, color, and neckline of the dress- a fabric swatch can also be very helpful.

Something Blue…Something Fabulous!
Many brides are experimenting with color in their bridal jewelry beyond the traditional white or “something blue.” Even if a bride is wearing a white or ivory dress, bringing in some color with sparkling, colorful gemstones and lustrous pearls of exotic hues can really make a lovely impression. Natural, semi-precious gemstones and freshwater pearls can be absolutely gorgeous and much more affordable than most people think. I have had brides incorporate their wedding colors or the color of their bridesmaid dresses within their necklace, earrings, or bracelet to flattering and elegant effect. This is most successful when the wedding dress doesn’t have too much beading or ornamentation that may “clash” with the jewelry. So have an open mind and consider some color in your bridal jewelry!

Silver or Gold?
I recommend matching the metal color in your wedding jewelry to your wedding band, so if you have a yellow gold band, it is safest to stay with jewelry set in that same metal, or trim the expense by choosing gold plated or gold vermeil jewelry. If your band is platinum or white gold you can easily wear silver jewelry that will keep the “cool” look throughout your ensemble. I also love the look of “mixed-metal” where silver and gold are used side-by-side for a subtle and modern effect. This is getting more popular in wedding bands, and it is fun and fresh to see bridal jewelry that incorporates gold and silver together.

All Together Now – Bridesmaids & Beyond
Of course, jewelry is also great for bridesmaids, flower-girls, and Mothers-of-the-Bride/Groom too! Some brides choose a unified look for their bridesmaids where all the ladies are wearing exactly the same ensemble, while other brides choose to “mix it up.” Selecting a variety of styles in necklaces, earrings, and bracelets in complimentary colors will add detail and interest to the bridal party, and ensure that there will be a style to suit everyone. This is also a great idea for the bride who wants to offer the jewelry as a special gift to her bridal party.

Seek and Ye Shall Find…
So, how do you start looking for this special jewelry? A little online research (local and national) will be a good place to begin your search. Ask your friends for recommendations, and look in fashion magazines like “Lucky” or “In Style” for leads on good designers.

I hope that these tips will help guide you to finding or creating fabulous wedding jewelry that truly expresses your inner and outer beauty, while allowing you to feel confident and comfortable on one of the most important days of your life. Best wishes on creating the wedding of your dreams!

In 1960, Hippies which are also known as Gypsies ran a movement in America which was started from San Francisco. The movement was against the government laws for the clothing. At that time all the youngsters related to the Hippy Community wore the dresses of their styles which can be said as the anti-fashion costume of that time. That movement, because of these costumes was called as “Summer of Love” by them. Hippies are called rebellions because of their own styles and the stereotypical groups and they didn’t follow any rules and regulations. We can see them still on the streets of America and even in Italy and other European Countries.

At that time the Bohemian Clothing was called as unsophisticated clothing which normal people and especially gentle people don’t wear. But now Bohemian Clothing is more fashionable outfit for every single being. Not only hippies still wear their own clothing but other people also adopted it as a trendy fashion. Bohemian clothing captured a very large market in a short time.

When we talk about Blue Jeans, quite some people know that it is also the Bohemian Clothing. And in that movement mostly youngsters used to wear jeans. Now some of the most prominent designers love to design jeans and even it is one of the most expensive clothing as well introduced by many designers. But common jeans are very much affordable and anyone can buy it very easily.

Then we talk about Denim Jacket. I also have one in my wardrobe and I like to wear it as a top and it looks very trendy and casual as well. It is also originated from the Bohemian Clothing and now it is available in different colors and styles in the market for both ladies and gents.

Gypsy Skirt is also a Bohemian Clothing which is also very much common. It is available mostly in deep dark colors with a frilly effect. It looks very classy even if someone wears it in informal functions.
